African American Student Development

AASD at UC Berkeley

Welcome to African American Student Development (AASD) on the Berkeley campus. The African American Student Development Office is the Academic, Social-Emotional, Professional Development, Community and Cultural Support Center for Students of African/Black Ancestry at the University of California at Berkeley.  In partnership with students, staff, faculty, campus and community partners, we develop, deliver and implement student development programs, opportunities and events centered around the diversity mission of the University of California.  Our office is here to support you as a Cal student, help you to pursue academic excellence, and assist you in building your own community on campus. To get involved, contact us at (510) 642-0096, or stop by our office at 247 Cesar Chavez Student Center.

Help Fund The Fannie Lou Hamer Black Resource Center

We need your help more than ever to fund the Fannie Lou Hamer Black Resource Center. Your donations will directly help fund the center, which was created in response to demands made by UC Berkeley’s Black Student Union. The center will provide a safe convening environment, and will create space and opportunity for Black students and organizations to organize and engage in academic, social-cultural activities, leadership, community development and networking activities.
