Some quick facts about anti-hate work at UC Berkeley:
In September 2003, the charter for the Chancellor's Taskforce on Hate & Bias was approved, which launched the largest recent anti-hate crimes movement on campus.
The first hate crimes website at UC Berkeley (stophate.berkeley.edu) was originally created by the 1999-2000 Student Advocate’s Office as part of Hate Crimes Awareness Week. In 2003, the Chancellor’s Taskforce on Hate & Bias took over the site, and the Gender Equity Resource Center now maintains the site.
