Sources for engagement with transgender peers, both on campus and off-campus. This includes annual events as well as regularly scheduled groups.
Undergraduate
T-CAL: A Transgender and Gender Non-Conforming Space
T-Cal, a registered student organization of the Associated Students of the University of California, Berkeley, is a community for transgender and gender non-conforming students. T-Cal's weekly support group meetings (held via Zoom) are led by an all-transgender team of student volunteer facilitators. T-Cal creates an intentional, warm, and fun space for community members to discuss various issues, identities, and experiences in a comfortable and supportive environment.

Graduate
The Sexual Orientation and Gender Advocacy Project (SOGA)
The Sexual Orientation and Gender Advocacy Project (SOGA) seeks to improve the lives and experiences of queer and gender-diverse graduate students at UC Berkeley. SOGA works closely with other GA projects to initiate outreach targeting graduate queer and gender-diverse students at UC Berkeley. Additionally, this coordinator serves as an advocate for queer and gender-diverse graduate students, addressing specific needs and concerns of the community to ensure their success in higher education and beyond.

The Trans Student Wellness Initiative
Run by the Multicultural Community Center, The Transgender Student Wellness Initiative (TSWI) is a student-driven and community-centered program that aims to support the holistic wellness and retention of trans and nonbinary students at UC Berkeley.

A Queer and Trans Welcome Event where students can find community, resources, and friends, held at the beginning of each semester
NorCal T-Camp
NorCal T-Camp is an intercampus retreat for northern California college and university students to explore gender identity and expression and to engage in dialogue with our peers. This event is specifically for students who are trans, transgender, non-binary, genderqueer, gender nonconforming, gender questioning, agender, gender creative, gender fluid or anywhere else on the gender spectrum.
UNITY Events
UNITY Theme Program's goal is to become the pre-eminent living-learning community in the United States for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer/Questioning (LGBTQ) identified students and their allies. They host a variety of events each semester including a Campus Drag Show.
Trans Healthcare Panel
Held every semester, the Trans Healthcare Panel brings together doctors, providers from the healthcare team, and student panelists alike to discuss hormones, gender-affirming surgeries, and personal experiences.

Queer Relationships Panel
Held as part of the Spring 2022 QT Wellness Series, the Ins and Outs of Queer Dating Panel with Evita "Lavitaloca" Sawyers on Wednesday, April 20th, 2022. Those who wish to attend virtually can attend at tinyurl.com/GenEqDating

LGBTQ+ people face higher rates of domestic and intimate partner hardships and violence than cisgender/heterosexual couples - making it challenging to find models of healthy relationships. What do healthy LGBTQ+ relationships look like? Come engage with Evita "Lavitaloca" Swayers and UHS couples counselor Sasha Blum to discuss the ins-and-outs of dating as a queer person, including polyamory, boundaries, healthy communication, and consent. Evita "Lavitaloca" Sawyers is a non-monogamy peer support guide, speaker, writer, and educator, creator of "Today's Polyamory Reminder", she is one of the subjects of the groundbreaking documentary "Poly-Love". Her voice and experience have been featured on several podcasts including normalizing non-monogamy, multiamory, and inner hoe uprising. Her approach is both frank and yet empathetic and she is appreciated for her vulnerable openness about her own challenges in nonmonogamy and helping others grow.
Off-Campus Support Groups
Pacific Center
Founded in 1973, Pacific Center for Human Growth is the oldest LGBTQIA+ center in the Bay Area, the third oldest in the nation, and operates the only sliding scale mental health clinic for LGBTQIA+ and QTBIPOC people and their families in Alameda County.
Trans Support Group: A weekly peer-facilitated meeting, open to anyone anywhere along the transgender spectrum. Held every Friday evening from 8-9:30pm.
Other Current Peer Groups: Pacific Center offers ongoing, drop-in, peer-facilitated groups covering a range of topics and issues important to our communities. These groups provide connection, support, information, and enjoyment. Peer groups are volunteer-led and are not therapy groups.
Oakland LGBTQ Community Center
The Oakland LGBTQ Community Center provides a varitey of resources for transgender support including peer group support and individual counseling.
SF LGBT Center
The Center supports the needs of the entire LGBTQ community and allies through robust programming. They also connect people to a rich network of organizations in San Francisco serving the LGBTQ community.
Alameda County LGBTQ Resources
As part of the LGBTQ Commission, Alameda County also has a directory of resources relevant to LGBTQ populations.
